Looking for something fun for the whole family on St. Patrick’s Day? On Saturday, March 17th, Pioneer Farms will be hosting Austin’s 17th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival. This festival prides itself on being an authentic celebration of Irish culture. That means no green beer allowed!

Two covered stages will feature international and local Celtic music stars such as Whiskey Shivers , Liz Carroll, and Jeff Moore. Enjoy watching the Inishfree Austin Irish Dancers and The Clickety Cloggers perform their unique dance styles. You’ll also experience Scottish bagpipes from the Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums and the vocal sounds of the Capital City Men’s Chorus. The kids can keep themselves entertained outside playing laser tag or trying out the human gyroscope. When they (or you!) need to cool off, head to the climate-controlled gaming theater to play some Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, and more on large plasma screens.

Grab some Irish beer on tap, including Guinness, Harp, and Smithwicks as you roam the festival. A special menu includes fish ‘n chips, Irish po’boys, and corned beef and cabbage to keep you well-fed. You can even take a free introduction to the Irish language from the Gaelic League at 4:00 p.m. to feel a little more Irish. The festival runs from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets for the festival can be purchased on their website here.
