When you visit us at Rio Bonito Cabin & RV Park, you don’t have to leave our grounds to experience the natural wonders of the Texas Hill Country. But with all the fabulous outdoor activities close by, we encourage you to make Rio Bonito your home for exploring the lakes, rivers, and parks of the area. A great place to begin is down the road at Tejas Park.
Tejas Park is located nearby on the south side of Lake Georgetown. The lake’s clear water makes it great for boating and fishing. It is well-known for Smallmouth Bass, but you’ll also find Black Bass, White Bass, Hybrid Stripers, White Crappie, Channel Catfish, and Flathead Catfish. If you prefer your outdoor fun on land, the San Gabriel River Trail wraps around the lake. You can hike or bike over 26-miles of rugged trail that travels through a variety of ecosystems: dense juniper forest, hardwood bottomlands, and prairie grasslands. Hunters can even try for small game and white tail deer on the trail.
While in Tejas Park, take advantage of the picnic area with grills and fire rings for public use. If you have a large group (maximum 25), there’s an area you can use for gathering, which comes in handy for meals and meeting up for activities. You’ll also find vault toilets for public use. The gates to the park close from sunset until 6:00 a.m. For more information and to plan your visit to Tejas Park, visit their website here.
