During the Hill Country’s mild winters, outdoor activities abound. Spending time in nature is a great way to enjoy your visit to the area. When you want to venture out from Rio Bonito’s beautiful grounds, the Blue Hole Park is a great place to head to!
Blue Hole is an incredible lagoon surrounded by limestone bluffs. The area makes for a great hike. The park has a variety of trails to get your legs moving. When you need a rest, there are picnic areas for you to enjoy. You can even fish in the lagoon! Make sure to check the park rules before heading out so you’re aware of what not to do. For example, jumping off the limestone cliffs is a definite no-no!
No need to worry about parking, it’s free at the corner of 3rd Street and Rock street, either at the parking lot or the parking garage nearby. The park is open from 5 AM to 10 PM, and the entrance is located at W. Second Street and Rock Street. For additional information, visit their website here.
