The holiday season kicks off November 23rd with the Lighting of the Square in Georgetown. This event takes place each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving at 5:30 p.m. It’s a tradition that you won’t want to miss! Georgetown’s Mayor, Dale Ross, leads the crowd in helping Santa countdown to the moment when the switch is flipped, and Georgetown Square lights up with holiday cheer!

The Austin Carolers will be on-hand, so you can sing along with your favorite carols. Downtown shops will be staying open late, so you can pick up some holiday gifts while you stroll the Square. Don’t forget to have the kids’ picture taken with Santa inside the courthouse between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. Photo fees go to benefit the Brown Santa Program that does so much good work in the area.

You’ll want to gather near 710 S. Main Street in the Square to see all the action. For more information, visit this website.
