Memorial Day is a time to honor our veterans who sacrificed everything for our country. There’s no better place to do that this year than the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza. Attend one or both events to pay your respects and enjoy the beautiful May weather in the Hill Country.

Sunday, May 27th at 7:00 p.m., the Plaza will host a Pre-Memorial Day Evening Band Concert with the 36th Infantry Division Band from Camp Mabry in Austin. Come out and enjoy a variety of patriotic marches and big band music. It will be a fun and uplifting evening!

On Monday, the 28th at 9:30 a.m., come out for the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Plaza. The Ceremony will honor the men and women who gave their lives in our country’s service. The 36th Infantry Division Band will play, and U.S. Senator John Cornyn will be the guest speaker. Seven hundred chairs will be available, but you can also bring your own folding chairs to sit under the trees. Refreshments will be served on the Social Center patio after the ceremony.

Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, including alternate plans for rain, visit the event website here.
